About the Gastonia East Rotary Club

Gastonia East Rotary Club is a welcoming group of local leaders, professionals, and neighbors who believe strong communities are built through relationships—and sustained through action.

We come together each week not just to meet, but to connect, serve, and make a real difference across Gaston County. Whether we’re supporting local nonprofits, serving meals, or creating spaces for our community to gather, our focus is simple: show up, work together, and do good.

We are committed, above all else, to serve the community in which we live. Gastonia East Rotary members can be spotted making a difference all over town.

Gastonia East Rotary Club chartered on Sept. 12, 1970, with sponsorship by the original Gastonia club.

One of our founders was a member of the Gastonia Club, the late Bynum Carter, whose daughter later served as well. Other charter members included David Deas, Tom Efird, John Parks, Charles Stribling, and Tom Watson. David and Tom are still members to this day!

With a membership of around 100 local business leaders, Gastonia East Rotary is among the largest clubs in District 7680. In fact, we continued to grow throughout the pandemic as a place to find human connections with like-minded Rotarians serving our community.

As Rotarians, Gastonia East is proud to work with the other 3 clubs in our town. We participate in regular service projects with the original Gastonia, Gastonia Breakfast, and Gastonia Evening clubs.

Gastonia East meets for lunch every Monday at the Gastonia Conference Center (excluding holidays). The catered lunch is included with your membership or $14 for visitors. Each week, we feature programs from local government and community organizations making life better in Gaston County.

Club members represent a wide variety of professions and interests from the Gastonia area. We are a diverse community united by the cause of Service Above Self.
